AT&T Tilt delayed a few weeks?

Unlocked Kaisers are already available from your friendly local importer (and yes, it rocks, by the way), but if on-contract AT&T pricing is more to your liking, the wait may have just gotten a little longer. We're hearing unconfirmed reports that the 8925 Tilt -- AT&T's branded version of the Kaiser -- has been pushed back a few weeks from its September 25 release window thanks to some pesky network certification issues. You know, those tests that cause a phone mentioned in December of one year to be released late the following year (pardon if we sound bitter). Anyway, the phones have apparently been shipped back to HTC for some last-minute rejiggering; with any luck, we'll still see 'em before October's out if the rumor's true. If this ends up being nothing more than a case of a few misinformed AT&T reps, though, make sure to bring enough cash on your shopping trip next Tuesday for both the Tilt and Halo 3, k?[Thanks, John L.]

i second all of the above comments.
ive been waiting for this thing to drop to see what ATT crippled from it and if it is worth buying the unlocked version. hopefully nothing other than the front facing camera and lets hope for a huge price reduction from $7-800!

There is no way this would happen with all the paper work we see still showing it as released on the 25th... I think someone spread a rumer and this is all that is. there have been two AT-T ROM's released for this phone already so the ROM's are out and being tested and worked on. I know one thing i am going to be fucken pissed if it is not out tuesday!

Yeah, I just realized I posted this on the wrong Engadget (Engadget= the not as cell phone passionate VS. Engadget Mobile = takes torches to companies for not launching phones on time....which is a particularly fitting example). So yeah, this is a copy and paste job.

This totally sucks. They finally release a high-end HTC phone at an intial price I can actually afford and they taunt by delaying it...nice. This is like a cruel game of technological S&M.

But, then again, I can't get too upset at AT&T, they are gonna release an assload--it's a new unit of measurement, I hear--WM(6) devices....hopefully along with those WM5-->WM6 updates, too.

thursday i was talking to the CSR at ATT store .. she said launch date is oct 5th.
